Have you tried doing this in a private window and check if the same thing happens there?

The enormous amount of data in the cache is most likely causing unexpected troubles in QBO. This is due to the fact that a standard browser will continue to amass data and will not delete its history automatically.
 

We can perform the basic browser troubleshooting steps that'll help isolate the issue.
 

Here's how:
 

  1. Restart your browser.
  2. Log in to your account and try to process again your payroll transactions in an incognito or private browser. You can se these keyboard shortcuts to launch a new private window:

    Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N  
    Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
    Safari: press Command + Shift + N
     
  3. If it works on the private browser, you can go back to the regular browser and clear your browser's cache.
  4. Then process again your payroll transactions.
