You've got a great idea there, @Renoraider1.

As of the moment, the option to assign a labor and material budget to a job isn't feasible in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

As a workaround, you can enter the job's labor and material budget in the invoice's MEMO field. This way, your customer will be informed of the job cost.

Another option is to use a third-party app to tie your labor and material budget to a job. Simply go to the App Center in your QBDT and search for an app from there.

Additionally, you can also send your feedback to our product developing team to inform them about your concept. This way, they might consider including it the future updates. I'll show you how.

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Select Send Feedback Online.
  3. Then click Product Suggestion.
  4. Enter your suggestions and details then click Send Feedback

Furthermore, I'm adding this resource that can assist you in keeping track of your customer's jobs: Track job costs in QuickBooks Desktop.

If there's anything else you need help with your customer's jobs, please let me know the details in your reply. It's always my pleasure to help you in running your business flawlessly. Have a great weekend ahead!
