Audit time activities

The audit log seems to be particularly useless for tracking down when a change to a weekly timesheet was made. I had some time entered into an employee's time card that they insisted they did not do. It was after payroll and invoicing, i.e. the change was made to an old time card. But the audit log stores things by when a change was made, and you have to drill into each change to see what actual day the change applied to. Is there a third party tool that makes this easier? What about the general problem of people entering in time in the wrong week?

Hello, BravoVictor.

Let me share some details on how the Audit log works in QBO. The audit log in QuickBooks Online lets you view all the changes made in your company file and who made them.

Each change made afterward to the transaction is also visible with a date and user stamp. To know more about it, please refer to this article: Use the audit log in QuickBooks Online

With regards to the third-party app, I can't suggest a specific app for you. However, you can check our QuickBooks App Store and look for an app that integrates with QBO. You can also go to the Apps menu in your QBO account and look for an app from there.

Also, I encourage checking our Help articles page to learn some tips and tricks in managing your QBO account. From there, you can read great articles that can guide you through the steps by steps process.
