I'd be pleased to assist you with adding backdated paychecks, Shanna.

You can create a paycheck with a past check date, provided it's not a direct deposit and it's not after the tax period due date for paying taxes or filing forms for that period. If you receive a message to choose a more recent pay date, you can contact us for help.

To enter paychecks with a past date, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to Payroll and select the Employees tab.
  2. Click Run payroll and pick a payroll schedule.
  3. Adjust the Pay Date and Pay Period to the desired dates.
  4. Select the employee and add their salary or hours worked.
  5. Choose the pay method as Paper check.
  6. Preview and submit payroll.

In case you want to enter your employee's year-to-date paycheck information and company totals, you can refer to this article for guidance: Add pay history to QuickBooks Online Payroll.

Please feel free to hit reply if you have any further concerns regarding adding backdated paychecks. I'm always here to back you up.
