Thank you for turning to the Community about your payroll tax concern, memoree77.

Let's make sure you get the accurate local tax jurisdiction to show the correct local city tax rate.

The local tax information displayed in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is determined by the employee's residence and place of employment. You may need to change the local tax location to see different taxes.

Obtain the physical addresses of your employees physical address and work locations to determine the correct local tax jurisdictions. If you are unsure, contact your local tax office and use the local tax resources. Click here to read the article and proceed to the section titled Here are some local tax resources and information.

If the incorrect local city tax rate still shows in QBO after checking the address and work location, I recommend contacting our Payroll Support Team again. They have the necessary tools to pinpoint the source of the issue. Then, our experts will walk you through the process of implementing the permanent solution.

You can read this article to learn more about updating your employee data: Edit or change employee information in payroll. From there, you'll see how each tab works as well as links to instructions for completing each task.

For resources and answers to payroll-related activities, visit the QBO Payroll Hub. From there, you'll find topics such as managing your tax payments, processing forms, and dealing with tax notices, to name a few.
