Thanks for reaching out to the Community, @monica-ridgetop. Let me share some information about changing your bank account number in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

The option to change the bank account number after running payroll is unavailable. However, the employees will still be able to get paid even if you've selected an old bank account.

What you can do is update your Direct Deposit bank account so that Intuit can auto-debit and will be able to collect funds. For detailed steps on how you can update it, see this article.

If you've updated your Direct Deposit bank account and you want to know where to post the payroll transactions, then you can either transfer them or you'll want to create a journal entry.

Here's how to create a Journal entry:

  1. Go to the +New button.
  2. Under Other, select Journal Entry.
  3. Enter the correct accounts and amounts posted.
  4. Click Save and close

Additionally, you can check out this article to learn more about dealing with some common direct deposit issues: Fix direct deposit issues.
