I have a person who is in the customer list and we have now hired her.  Is there a way to convert her to an employee or how would i go about adding her as an employee since her name is the same?

Yes, a customer can also be an employee in QuickBooks Online, tparrish. I'll share the details on how to accomplish this.

You can include her by adding a unique identifier, such as a middle initial (MI) or any other indicator that will make her distinct.

Here's how to add as a new employee:

  1. Navigate to the Payroll section and select Employees.
  2. Click on Add an employee.
  3. Enter the employee's name and email address. If you want them to input their own personal, tax, and banking information, ensure that Employee self-setup is enabled. QuickBooks will automatically send them an invitation to QuickBooks Workforce, where they can provide their address, Social Security number, W-4, and banking details.
  4. Click on Add employee.
  5. Select the relevant sections to input the remaining employee information.
  6. Once you have finished entering information in a tab, click on Save.

You can find more details in this article: Add your new employee to QuickBooks Payroll.
