Question

Can I get the date of birth and date of hire to work correctly in payroll? It keeps popping up with a check the date and check the number and won’t let me go any further?

We appreciate you joining us here in the forum, bookkeepingbynan.

I'll ensure you can overcome the error you receive when entering an employee's hire and birth date in QuickBooks Online Payroll.

When adding employees, it's essential to ensure you're entering the correct date and following the appropriate format when providing their information.

However, if this is the case already, we can utilize a private window to prevent unusual behaviors caused by a corrupted cache file. You can refer to these keyboard shortcuts depending on your browser:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Shift + Ctrl + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N

When it works, you can begin clearing the cache from your regular browser to refresh the website's preferences. You can also use a different browser supported by QuickBooks if the issue persists, as it provides the best and most secure experience.

Moreover, you can refer to these resources for guidance once you're ready to pay your employees or you need to update their information:
