Hello there, @Megan. I know how important this is for you to keep track of your business accurately. I'm here to help you sort this out.

If you're going to delete a tax payment there are some requirements that you'll need to know before you can go through the process. I'll share it with you.

You can only delete a payment if it's manually recorded non-electronically and if the electronic payments haven't been processed yet. Moreover, you can delete Federal tax payments two business days before the payment date, before 5 pm PS, and also know that states have different lead times for processing tax payments. Some states may take up to five business days. If the lead time for your state is five business days, you need to delete the payment five business days before the payment date, before 5 pm PST.

If you enable the automated taxes and forms, you can proceed to the following steps on how to delete a tax payment.

  1. Hover your cursor to the Taxes menu and click Payroll tax.
  2. Below the Tax resources, select Tax payment history.
  3. Select the name of the tax payment. Change the date range if necessary.
  4. From the View and Print Form drop-down, select Delete.
  5. Then click Yes to confirm.

However, if you don't see delete, you cannot delete the payment. You'll need to contact our support team for assistance.

If you have clarifications about the process, you can refer to this article: Delete a tax payment.
