Question

Can I remove the "Donor" "Select a donor" option from the Workplace App that my employee use. They see it when they submit a time entry.

We do not need our employees to select a "Donor", so I would like to remove the option.  I would assume a for-profit organization calls this "Client" (but I'm not sure).

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, Stephen49.

I would love to help you, but I need some information about your concern. Could you please provide more details on how your company is set up? Also, is it a Workplace third-party app or Workforce?

Any additional info or a screenshot of the interface will be greatly appreciated. We are looking forward to your reply. Have a good one!

Sorry about that..  I am using the QuickBooks Workforce app.  What specific details do you need? Thanks for clarifying.

Ensuring a smooth and efficient experience with the Workforce app is essential, as it significantly enhances your team's productivity and effectiveness. I acknowledge your point of view on this matter, Tamar. Your concern is valid.

While removing the Select a Donor option entirely on the Workforce app isn't possible, I'll provide a workaround on how your employee tracks time without adding a customer or donor.

To avoid needing your employees to select a customer or donor when clocking in and out on the QuickBooks Workforce app, you can manually unassign a parent or child customer that your team members can use through your web browser.

Here's how to do it in just a few easy steps:

  1. Click the Customer menu on the lower left side of the screen.
  2. On the Manage Customers area, click the Gear icon.
  3. Select Assigned to All, and you'll see the customer with a checkmark.
  4. Manually click each customer, then untick the Assign to all team members box. Once done, Save.
  5. Repeat the same process for another customer.

Once you've unassigned a customer to all of your employees using a web browser, your employees can track their work hours without assigning a specific donor.

Additionally, you can review this article for guidance on creating, updating, and approving/rejecting time entries for your team members:
Manage timesheets in QuickBooks Workforce.

For future reference, you can run the Wage report to gain a comprehensive list of your team members' names, detailing their hours worked, pay rates, and total wages.

With the workaround above, your employees can streamline their experience and make it easier for them to log their hours. Please be assured that I'm here to back you up.
