I have a quickbooks payroll subscription but did not use it during the 2023 year . I would like to input all of 2023 information now in January 2024 for the 2023 year.

I was told that their system limitations prevented the user from doing this once the calendar year rolled over and I sure found out the hard way.  I had an appointment for 12/20/23 that was not kept and was told no appointments the week after Christmas.  The online scheduler kept kicking me out even though i could see appointments.  I then had an appointment for the beginning of Jan specifically for this purpose  and was told "not possible". I was refunded the subscription fee and that was that.

Hello there, @zanemechanical. Let me share some information about setting up your 2023 payroll information in QuickBooks Online Payroll.

Yes, you can enter your last year's payroll information using the pay history feature found in QBO Payroll. Since you already have an account and paid them, you'll need to enter their year-to-date paycheck information in QuickBooks Online. Allow me to guide you on adding your pay history to QBO Payroll. Here's how:

  1. Get your pay history information.
  2. The next thing is to start the setup.
  3. Enter how much you paid your employees that year.
  4. Enter your company totals for each payday.

For more details about the steps mentioned, you can visit this article: Add pay history to QuickBooks Online Payroll.

Additionally, you can change your pay history if you haven't created any paychecks. Go to Payroll, select Overview, and return to the setup and pay history tasks.

If you've already created paychecks and wish to edit them, contact us to change your pay history.

Furthermore, you can check this article to see and print your pay stub using Workforce: View your pay stubs, time off, and year-to-date pay in QuickBooks Workforce.
