Nice to have you in the Community space, @cephasmcdonald.

Allow me to help share information about the Mileage tracking feature.

Currently, the mileage tracking feature in QuickBooks Online (QBO) doesn't have the option to import mileage data. At the moment, we can only import these following information to QBO:

  • Customers
  • Vendors
  • Accounts
  • Products and Services

You can also check these links for more details about importing data in QBO:

For now, what you can do is manually add those trip from your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) to your QBO account. Let me guide you how:

  1. Go to the Mileage menu
  2. Select Add Trip.
  3. Add the trip date, starting/ending locations, distance, and the trip purpose.
  4. Then click Save.

You can check out this article to learn more about how mileage tracking works in QBO: Automatically track mileage in QuickBooks Online.

I've also collected some articles that you can use for reference in case you run into issues in tracking your mileage.

I'm just a post away if you have any other concerns with mileage tracking. I'll be around to back you up. Keep safe and stay well.

This is on sales page for QBO in FAQ about mileage tracker feature.  "As your business grows, QuickBooks Online may be the right option for you. The good news is you can automatically transfer your current mileage from QuickBooks Self-Employed to QuickBooks Online. After you sign in and switch plans you can select an option to bring your data over. You’ll find your miles waiting for you in your new account."

Where is this option exactly- in the app or online?

Hi there, @ carelnagata.

Having the ability to move Mileage automatically after upgrading a QBSE account to QBO is convenient when added to the program. You can only import the trips from Mile IQ to QBO.
