Hi there, @josecadena.

QuickBooks Online Payroll only requires you to enter the Texas State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) in the program. The account number for TX SUI is a nine-digit number with a format of xx-xxxxxx-x. This is why you're unable to enter the Texas tax number with an eleven-digit number.

In case you need to get your SUI tax number, check out this article: https://www.twc.texas.gov/businesses/unemployment-tax

Once you have it, follow these steps to enter it into the program.

  1. Go to Settings and select Payroll settings.
  2. Under the Taxes section, click the State Taxes - TX
  3. Enter the TX SUI nine-digit number in the field and select OK.

You can also check out our Payroll Tax Compliance links to get more details on tax forms, withholdings, unemployment, and access your state agency websites.

If you have any follow-up questions or other QuickBooks-related concerns, write them down in this thread. I'll be happy to answer them for you. Have a good one!
