Hello there!

Thank you for posting here in the Community. Let me help you with your tax payment in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

The option to postpone a tax withdrawal isn't possible at this time. You need to delete the payment if it is not processed yet.

You can delete the payment if:

  • It’s manually recorded (non-electronic payments).
  • It hasn't been processed electronically.
  • The date of your federal payment is at least two banking days prior to the payment date, before 5 PM PST.
  • The date of your state payment is before the lead time (state lead times vary).

Here are the steps on how to delete tax payments in QuickBooks Online:

  1. Go to the Taxes tab.
  2. Under Sales Tax and choose Payments.
  3. Click the drop-down arrow beside view, then click Delete.
  4. Select Yes on the confirmation screen.

For more details about this one, check out this article: Delete a tax payment.

Once done, enter the tax payment with the correct period in QBO. Just follow the steps and details in this article: Recording prior tax payments

In addition, see the articles beneath to check the status of e-payments and learn more about automatic tax features:
