Can QBO automatically add a decimal point to dollar amounts like desktop did?

    Hello, @burkholdersmotor.

     

    The feature to automatically add decimal points to dollar amounts is not currently available in QuickBooks Online (QBO), but you can manually add them.

     

    First, you can review the number format in your Account and Settings, and here's how: 

     

    1. In the top right, select the Gear icon. 
    2. Choose Account and Settings. 
    3. On the left pane, go to Advanced. 
    4. Click anywhere inside Other Preferences. 
    5. Select your preferred Number Format on the drop-down. 
    6. Go to Save, then Done. 

     

    Once you have completed the steps above, this also changes the dollar amount's format in other transactions and reports.

    It doesn't seem like QBO has the feature I was looking for.  What I was looking for was, I could type in 12345 and the box would fill as 123.45.

    The option to automatically add decimal points to dollar amounts is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). 

    For now, you'll have to manually add the decimal points when entering the amounts in your transactions. I can see how this feature would help you ease your task when recording your entries. Therefore, let me take note of this as a suggestion to improve your experience in QuickBooks.

    I'd also suggest looking for a third-party app that would help you automatically add decimal points on dollar amounts. Simply go to the Apps menu and select Find apps. From there, search for the app.

    Moreover, you can run sales reports QBO to easily track your sales and inventory status.
