Hi drjamielenz,

Thank you for reporting that you cannot create paychecks at the moment. Let's check to see why this happens.

If there's a message with clickable hypertext or blue text, click on it because it will provide information about the error and steps to resolve it. If none, we'll do the browser troubleshooting steps to see if the behavior is caused by damaged cached files.

Cached files are data from webpages that your browser collects to speed up the loading process when you revisit a page. Sometimes, they get misconfigured, corrupted, outdated, etc., so webpages could end up having unusual behaviors.

To begin with the browser troubleshooting steps, please sign in to QuickBooks using a private or incognito window. In this mode, the browser does not use cached files, so the data loaded by the pages comes directly from the Intuit server.

  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N.
  • Safari: CommandShift + N.
  • Edge and Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P.

If QuickBooks works properly, we can say that the behavior is indeed from your browser's cached files, and we can therefore remove them. However, if nothing happens, use a different browser to isolate the case.

I know how important it is to run payroll so comment here if you need more help. We are just around to continue helping you until we resolve the issue.

Every penny counts when running a business. I wish you didn't have to go through this hurdle,  lisajud. Let me make it up to you by sharing an alternative to sort out this rejected payroll in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Let's make sure to update QuickBooks to the latest release so you have the recent features and fixes.

Here's how:

  1. Close your QBDT.
  2. Right-click on the QuickBooks icon, and select Run as administrator.
  3. Go to the Help menu and click Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  4. Select the Update Now tab, and check the Reset Update box to clear all the previous downloads.
  5. Click Get Updates to start downloading.
  6. Once done, accept the option to install the new release.

You can also get the newest tax table in QBDT Payroll to stay in compliance with paycheck calculations.

I'm adding these articles as an additional guide while managing your payroll service.
