Can you access the funds withheld for state taxes if they were not paid electronically?

State and local taxes were originally set up to pay annually instead of monthly. How can I access the funds already set back to manually pay what is due?

Hello there, @occm-inc-outlook.

I want to help you out with your tax payment and filing concern. However, I need some more information about this to be able to help you out further.

Can you please confirm if your account is set for automatic tax payments? We do not withheld funds unless your account is enabled to pay taxes automatically, and it's your time to pay taxes to the agency.

If you want to start manually paying taxes outside QuickBooks, you can turn off this setting anytime. Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙, then select Payroll Settings.
  2. In the Taxes and forms section, select Edit ✎.
  3. Uncheck the Automate taxes and forms checkbox.
  4. Select how you plan on making your tax payments and filings.
    • I'll initiate payments and filings using QuickBooks.
      • We’ll let you know when your tax payments and form filings are due. You'll see reminders in your payroll to do list. When you're ready to pay or file your payroll taxes, see steps in Pay and file payroll taxes online.
    • I'll pay and file the right agencies through their website or by mail.
  5. Select Save.

Please share the additional information by clicking the Reply button below. I'll be right here to help you out with your payroll and tax concerns. Have a good one!
