It's great to see you here in the Community forum, dhelm.

I'm here to assist you with your payroll inquiry.

If you processed payroll manually, you can delete and recreate the paycheck and change the bank account. However, if it's via direct deposit, I recommend contacting our Payroll Support Team. They have the tools to pull up your account in a secured environment and help you correct the bank account.

If you wish to update your company's bank account for payroll in the future, here's what you can do:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Choose Payroll Settings.
  3. From Bank Accounts, select Edit ✎.
  4. Click Update.
  5. Select Add new bank account.
  6. Search your bank name. You may be asked to enter your online banking user ID and password. Otherwise, select Enter bank info manually. Enter your routing and account number, then select Save.
  7. Click Accept and Submit.

I inadvertently paid from my receivable account so it's already added in QuickBooks. Is there really no way to change the bank account on a paycheck?

Welcome to the Community, @milarose.

Let me share some ideas about the paycheck that you inadvertently paid from the receivable account and change to other bank account in QuickBooks Online.

If it is a regular payroll check you have the option to delete and recreate with the correct bank account.

You can also create a bank transfer to correct the balances if you don't want to touch the existing paychecks. Also do make sure to add a Note on it.

If it's a direct deposit check, you can void and reprocess it depending on your processing time. You can check this article for details: Edit, delete, or void employee paychecks.
