Can you stop an automatic tax filing if you already paid it via EFTPS online?

I previously enrolled in automatic forms and payments via QB, but I went ahead and paid at the beginning of the month for the 941 quarterly form. How can I stop QuickBooks from doing it at the end of the month?

Welcome to QuickBooks Community, @jasmine-multimed. I'll be happy to share information about canceling automatic tax filing in QuickBooks Online (QBO) after paying through the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS).

The option to remove or cancel tax payments for specific forms differs according to your payroll subscription. Since you're subscribed to automatic filings, you're unable to stop them yourself. However, I recommend getting in touch with our customer service team. They're equipped with tools to securely pull up your account information and accomplish this task on your behalf. To do that:

  1. Go to Help (?) and select Contact Us.
  2. Please enter a brief description of your concern and click Let's Talk.
  3. Choose between Start a chat and Get a callback

For more details about stopping a tax payment or form filing, please visit this article: Cancel or delete payroll tax payments and forms.

Moreover, manage your payroll accounting settings in QBO to map your transactions and modify how you monitor your wages, taxes, deductions, and company contributions to your Chart of Accounts.

Keep me posted in the Reply section below whenever you have any follow-up questions concerning automatic tax payment and filing in QBO. The Community is here to help at any time of the day. Stay safe and have a great day ahead.
