I closed my business and cancelled payroll service. I know you filed my final tax paperwork, but do you also send out w2s to my employees that I had during the year or do i need to print those out?

Hi there, undctiatc.

If you used to have QB Full Payroll Service, we can process the W-2 forms of your employees. You'll need to reactivate your account for the year-end filing.

Let me show you how:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. Choose Billing & Subscription.
  4. Click Reactivate in the Subscription status field.

You can check this article about: Reactivate Account for Year-End Form Filing.

Please let me know if you have other questions. Have a good day!

So my year end tax forms are filed correct? I selected that option when I cancelled service.

But w-2s are not part of that year end tax form filing?

Greetings, undctiatc.

Nice to hear from you again. I'd like to add to this discussion and help you determine if the W-2s were included during the filing.

I'd love to pull up your account and check this for you. However, the resources necessary to do this are under our QuickBooks Online Full Service Payroll Team, so I highly recommend that you reach out to them. They can pull up your account in a secure environment and quickly review the forms we filed for you.

In the meantime, you can let your employees sign into QuickBooks Workforce. It was previously called ViewMyPaycheck, and this is where we upload your employees' W-2 when the form has been filed. For more information about this, I recommend following this article: QuickBooks Workforce (formerly ViewMyPaycheck): Online Payroll FAQs

I hope this response finds you with a smile. Keep in touch if you have any additional questions about your W-2s. I always have your back and am always happy to help. Have a great day!
