We changed from Assisted payroll to Enhanced payroll. We checked the box "no" for Assisted to pay taxes. We paid our own. How do we get refund from Intuit for Tax Liabilities?

Hello, GWNWUPDF.

I'll show the way and ensure you're able to get the tax liability refund.

Just to set things straight, I take it that a duplicate tax payment was processed before you switched to Enhanced payroll. In this case, we would want to contact one of the payroll agents to process and get the refund for tax liabilities.

  1. In QuickBooks Desktop, press the F1 key.
  2. On the Have a Question? window, click the Contact Us button.
  3. In the box, enter something like "Tax liability refund from Assisted payroll."
  4. Click Continue, then choose how you want to reach us.

Alternatively, we can also find the contact details here: Contact Payroll Support (expand QuickBooks Desktop Payroll and check the Assisted links).

In the event that you received a refund check from the IRS or state agency, there are ways to handle it in QuickBooks. I would recommend checking these articles to help you with the processes:

Need to verify and check your tax liabilities in the near future? We can run a payroll summary report to do this. In case you need help, I'll drop this article: Create a payroll summary report in QuickBooks

You can always hop aboard if you have concerns in managing your payroll taxes in QuickBooks. If you have some concerns about the paychecks, sales or expense entries, or reports, let me know and I'll gladly help you out.
