Client Ready Payroll Reports Detail

The QuickBooks Enhanced Payroll Client Ready Payroll Reports detail tab repeats the pay checks in the first payroll when using "All Payroll in the Date Range" and the date range is greater than one pay period. When running the report for the month with a weekly payroll, it pulls the first weekly pay date and repeats this same payroll data four times instead of showing all four weekly pay dates in the month. This occurs in every company file in QuickBooks Desktop 2022 and 2021. Downloading the entire payroll update and repairing the QB installation, did not fix. Anyone else having this issue?

Several months ago, a QuickBooks update fixed the Enhanced Payroll for Accountants Client Ready Reports detail tab error of repeating the first payroll multiple times. The update was very appreciated but it created another issue. When running a monthly report for a company with weekly payroll, the detail tab always omits the 2nd payroll. This occurs in every company file in QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus 2024. Can someone please fix the Client Ready Reports Excel macro to include all payrolls in the date range.

Let's figure out why the detail tab always omits the 2nd payroll, NetProfit. I gathered several solutions so your Client Ready Reports include all payroll in the date range.

To be sure we're on the same page, can you provide a bit more detail about the issue or error message you're experiencing with your Client Ready Reports Excel? This will help me identify the problem and offer an accurate resolution.

In the meantime, please ensure that your QuickBooks Desktop is fully updated to the latest version and verify that macros are enabled in Excel. This will help ensure compatibility and proper functionality of the Client Ready Reports feature. Let me show you how:

Update QuickBooks Desktop

  1. Go to Help and select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Select Update Now, then Get Updates.
  3. Close and reopen QuickBooks to install the update again.

Enable Marco Settings in Excel

Macros are small programs that run inside Microsoft Excel. They allow you to automate repetitive tasks and perform complex calculations on your data without having to do it manually.

If there is a security warning and an Enable Content button

  1. Select Enable Content.

If there isn't an Enable Content button

  1. Select File, then Options.
  2. Select Trust Center, then Trust Center Settings.
  3. Select Macro Settings, then Disable all macros with notification.
  4. Select OK twice to save the settings.
  5. Close and re-launch the workbook from QuickBooks Desktop.

I'd also leave some articles in case you need more references with payroll:

Hello NerbynMael,

There are no error messages. All the Excel payroll reports work including the Client Ready Reports. QuickBooks is fully updated including the payroll tax tables. Excel macros are enabled. This issue occurred in multiple versions of QuickBooks (2021 to 2024) and every company file.

Here is a specific example of Client Ready Reports for a weekly payroll client. The report dates are 2/1/2025 to 2/28/2025 and "All Payroll in the Date Range" is selected. The Register tab includes the 2/7, 2/14, 2/21 and 2/28 pay checks. The YTD Summary and Tax Balances includes the correct numbers for all payroll. The Detail tab lists the 2/7, 2/21 and 2/28 pay checks. The 2/14 pay checks are missing.

I then have to run a separate Detail report from 2/14/2025 to 2/14/2025 and manually insert the data into the original Excel worksheet.

The 2nd payroll is always missing from the Detail report. It does matter if the month has 4 weeks or 5 weeks.

The Detail report correctly list all the payrolls for biweekly, semi-monthly and monthly payrolls.
