Colorado FAMLI act
Has anyone made the Desktop version work correctly? I did the Wizard and it put .9% in the amount for the employee and for the employer in the payroll item list. Can't change it. No amount of updating has made a difference.
Tried setting it up with the pre-populated payroll items - CO Paid Fam Med Leave Co and CO Paid Fam Med Leave Emp. Both of which have the .9% value in the payroll items list. The payroll items are both listed in the Other tab on the Taxes section for each employee. This must mean there is some combination of numbers that should make QB take .45% out of the employee's wages and add .45% to the employer responsibilities. However, there is no combination of numbers or percentages that I could figure out that would make the calculation on the paycheck be .45% for the employee and .45% for the employer.
I created a different payroll item called Co Paid Fam Med Leave Emp 1 that I was able to put in on the Other Tab on the Taxes section for each employee. I gave it a Rate of .45% and it was able to calculate the amount correctly. Then I manually had to add that amount to the Company Summary section. I have no idea where QB put the employer amount - there isn't an account under Payroll Liabilities for the Employer portion, only the Employee portion (and there that .45% happily sits until it gets paid at the end of the quarter). I'll create an employer account in Payroll Liabilities, I guess, and somehow get the amount withheld on this payroll into that account. Really, QB? This should have been simple but it is frustrating, complicated and massively time-consuming.
