Will the option to add the required FAMLI payments for Colorado beginning in Jan 2023 be available in quickbooks?

Welcome to the Community space, @Isa6. Let me provide an update about Colorado State Tax - FAMLI (2023).

Great news! This option will be available soon. QuickBooks is actively working on researching and adding these new tax items in preparation for the January 1 start date. Both our Desktop and Online products will support these new tax items.

For Colorado Paid Family Leave, the premium is 0.9% of each employee's gross wages which can be split 50/50 between employer and employee. Businesses with nine or fewer employees do not have to contribute to the program. Still, they need to remit their employees' share (0.45%) of the premium on behalf of employees each quarter. Some employers may be exempt from the tax if they offer a private plan approved by the FAMLI Division. Details on how to apply for an exemption will be available later in November on the agency site. Additional Colorado Paid Family Leave tax details are available via the Colorado FAMLI website.

We will follow up with your business in December with detailed articles on these new taxes, including instructions for setting up the Paid Family Leave in payroll.

In the same manner, I've got you this relevant article so you can keep up with the latest payroll updates mandated by your local agency: Colorado Payroll Tax Compliance.

Keep me updated in the comments if you have any other questions about Colorado State Tax - FAMLI (2023). I'll be here to lend a hand. Stay safe!
