How can I configure the payroll setup in QuickBooks Online (QBO) for our 501c3 organization, which is federally and state-exempt from Unemployment taxes, to proceed with Mississippi Withholding Tax payment without being prompted for a Mississippi Unemployment account number?

Hello there, @NVC_JXN. Let me help you proceed with a Mississippi Withholding Tax payment without being prompted for a Mississippi Unemployment account number in QuickBooks Online.

Set your employee's SUI to exempt to avoid being prompted for a Mississippi Unemployment account number. Follow the steps below on how:

  1. In Payroll, go to Employees.
  2. Click an employee and Edit the Tax Withholding.
  3. In the Tax exemptions, click your State Unemployment Insurance.

Moreover, you can reach your State Unemployment Insurance. They will help you further with your concern according to their policy.
