contractors not working in quickbooks

I'll help you rule this out so you can pay your contractors in QuickBooks Desktop with ease, @Jeff328.

Did you get any error messages when you're trying to make payments? If so, we'd appreciate it if you provide additional details and screenshot of it.

If you pay your vendors/contractors via Direct Deposit, I recommend making sure that the DD option is not disabled. It can be the underlying cause of the issue in the contractors' section.

If you're doing it manually, then you'll have to use the Verify and Rebuild Utility Tools. This helps resolve data integrity issues on your software. I'll show you how:

To verify data:

1. Choose Window, then click on Close All to close all open QuickBooks windows (reports, transactions, and so on).
2. Open the File menu, choose Utilities, then hit Verify Data.

To rebuild data:

1. Choose Window, then click on Close All to close all open QuickBooks windows (reports, transactions, and so on).
2. Open the File menu, choose Utilities, then hit Rebuild data.
