Direct deposit isn't showing up when I try to run my payroll

All of my employees are set up for direct deposit, but only paper check is showing as an option to pay them.

A missing option or feature in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is sometimes caused by browser-related issues. You can perform troubleshooting steps so your employees will get paid by direct deposit.


To start, you’ll want to access your QBO account in a private or incognito window for testing. Refer to the shortcut keys below for quick navigation:

 

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P


Once logged in, try to run your payroll and check if the direct deposit option is now visible. If yes, get back to your regular browser and clear its cache to start fresh. You can also use other supported browsers as an alternative.


QuickBooks offers a list of payroll reports that generate information about your business and employees. These reports can provide details about individual employees and can be easily exported to share and print.
