Direct Deposit Not Received by Employee

An employee, who never had a problem getting their direct deposit, did not receive their payroll direct deposit. None of their information has changed.  It was deducted from our banking account,  it is showing "processed" as a direct deposit under the paycheck list with today's date, August 18, 2023, and their employee portal shows their paycheck and indicates that it was processed as a direct deposit. All information is showing correctly on our end.  However, the employee is not showing any pending dollar amount in their account. 

 

They called their bank and their bank said it is on the processing end, which is a Quickbooks problem. 

 

Please advise.

If an employee didn't receive their direct deposit, it's possible it could've been rejected.

 

There's many reasons a reject could occur. You can review each of them in our following articles:
 

 

In the event a reject occurred, you'll be notified by Intuit through email and will see your funds returned to the original account they came from within 3-5 banking days after rejection. You'll also want to pay your employee with a check or send another direct deposit.

 

Another possibility is their direct deposit was submitted after the 5 PM PT cutoff time. When this happens, your payroll will be processed on the next banking day.

 

If your employee hasn't received their funds by 5 PM PT after the deposit's settlement date, and you haven't received any notification emails from Intuit about a rejected deposit, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Customer Care team. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment and perform a direct deposit trace.
