Direct Deposit Payroll notification

When I used payroll desk top, I processed & submitted direct deposit payroll on Wednesday, to be paid on Friday, I always received an email notice from QuickBooks later that day or Thursday before payroll that the payroll will be paid on Friday.  Also, our bank account would show the pending payroll total on Thursday.

I have set up direct deposit so all is good and completed on that end.   The payroll was processed without any issues and employees received their notice from "Workforce" on Wednesday to view their paycheck.

This week's payroll is the 1st time I've used QuickBooks on line payroll.  I processed and submitted the direct deposit payroll Wednesday, but this is Thursday and I haven't received an email notice from QuickBooks and there is no pending payroll listed on our bank account.

When I check the payroll for each employee it has "scheduled" in the status column for each employee's pending "check" and a message "we have everything we need to send this check to the bank and pay this employee on 6/9/23. If you need to make a change, select edit or delete from the action drop down by  6/8/23 5:00 p.m.

Is this how it will be each week?  I'm a little nervous that the employees will not receive their direct deposit on Friday because I'm used to confirmation the day before.

Thank you!

Linda

You're headed in the right direction for help with the deposit time for your direct deposit transactions, Lmonigold1999.

Once you've submitted your employees' paychecks, you'll receive a direct deposit confirmation email. It is critical to understand when your direct deposit will be deposited at your bank. It allows you to calculate the days and ensures that the money has been successfully deposited into your bank account. The timeframe for these transactions is determined by the funding period you select in QBO. Here are some examples:

  • Same-day: Employees are paid on the same day that you provide us with your payroll. Only Elite or Premium versions of QuickBooks Online Payroll offer this.
  • Next-day: After you provide us with your paycheck, we pay the employees on the next banking day.
  • 2-day: Workers are paid two banking days after you send your payroll to us.
  • 5-day: Workers are paid five banking days after you send your payroll to us.

Moreover, here’s an article you can visit to know on when to send your direct deposit payroll to pay your employees on time: Direct deposit processing timeline for QuickBooks Payroll. However, please take note that it also depends on the bank or financial institution you are connected with on how fast they process the deposit.

If there's a delay in the email Direct Deposit payroll notification, I'd suggest contacting our Payroll Support Team. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment and investigate what's causing this issue.

Thank you for your reply and information.  The problem is I'm not getting a direct deposit confirmation email after I've submitted the paychecks.  I didn't receive one until Friday, the day the payroll was paid, therefore I had no notice that my submitted payroll was received on Wednesday when I submitted it.

With the desktop version, I always received a notice the same day or next day at the latest so I knew everything was received and payroll would be paid on the desired day.

Our employees did receive their paychecks in their bank accounts on Friday, but not having a confirmation before payday is quite concerning to me.  I was very nervous that everyone would not have their checks.
