Direct Deposit Pin Error

Hi, I am a bookkeeper for multiple organizations. I'm setting up enhanced payroll for a new company and I'm trying to create the direct deposit pin. It says please verify your information by choosing your name from this list. The only name is the previous bookkeeper from another organization I work with even though I thought I was logged in under my QuickBooks account? What am I missing? There is usually an icon where you can log-in/out up in the right corner but that is gone.

Thank you for reaching out to us here in the Community, @RedBird77. I'm here to take care of your concern about the Direct Deposit PIN in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.

To resolve this, you'll need to update the Personal Identification Numbers (PIN) are your company's password for your Payroll Service. These are issued to your company for security to prevent unauthorized transactions from your bank account. Make sure you have the Admin password for the company file.

You can change or customize the current PIN in the Send Payroll Data window:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks account as the Admin.
  2. In the top menu, select Employees and then choose Send Payroll Data.
  3. Click on the Send Button.
  4. In the Payroll Service PIN window, go to Forgot your PIN?
  5. Enter your Admin password in the Password field.
  6. Select OK. The Enter the New PIN window opens, and type in a new PIN when prompted.
  7. Go to the Submit button.

Also if you can't remember your old or current PIN or are unable to change your PIN after following the steps above, refer to this article for replacing a lost or forgotten PIN: Change PIN for processing direct deposit payroll.

If the issue persists, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Support Team. They have the tools to verify and do a screen share session for further troubleshooting steps. They are available from 6 A.M. - 6 P.M. PT (Monday - Friday).

Keep in touch if you need more help with the PIN. I've got you covered and am always happy to assist you. Have a great rest of the day!
