Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community, laurie-brinsmail.

I'll provide details on how W-3 works in QuickBooks Online. Let me also route you to the right team to assist you further in managing this payroll form to guarantee your data remains accurate.

Please know that filing form W-3 depends on how your W-2s are filed with the Social Security Administration (SSA). Once you mail the W-2 copy A to the SSA, you'll need to file Form W-3 along with the W-2 copy A.

Since you've mentioned that QuickBooks filed your W-2s with the IRS, it seems we filed your W-2s for you or you filed them electronically with our payroll services. With this, you don't need to file Form W-3.

If you have any further questions about whether you need to file the W3, I recommend consulting a tax professional or appropriate government agency. They can provide more thorough information and suggestions for dealing with payroll forms.

In case you need steps on how you can run several payroll reports you can use to view employee info, wages, taxes, and deductions, you can read this article: Run payroll reports.
