Question

Does anyone else's payroll run late in the afternoons, like near 5 pm? Before, I could run it at 7 am my time (MT) and it would still process and deposit before lunch.

It started with a couple of employees and now is my entire roster of around 80. Anything I can do to avoid this?

Hello there, lisa-westernwell.

I know that paying your employees on time is very important. I'm here to share some information when to send your payroll based on your direct deposit lead time.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), the processing and approval of cut-off times depend on your payroll service. When you run a direct deposit (DD) that has two banking days lead time, your employees will receive their pay two banking days after submitting it.

For more information on how federal holidays affect direct deposit in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Payroll, you can check out this article: How to federal holidays affect the payroll process in QBO Payroll.
