Hello there, wattqb1234.

I'm here to help you change the default rate in holiday pay.

QuickBooks Online calculates "Holiday" pay at the normal hourly rate. The system also calculates the holiday pay rate in compliance with your state or employee's setup.

You can enter the hours manually when you create a paycheck. That being said, you can enter 1.5 hours to 2 hours depending on the work time.

Here's how to set it up:

  1. Click Payroll, then go to the Employees tab.
  2. Select the employee to open their profile.
  3. Click the Pencil icon next to Pay.
  4. Under How much do you pay Employee?, click the Pencil icon.
  5. Tick the Holiday Pay box.
  6. Click Done.
