Question

Does Pay Payroll Taxes no longer support the changing of the bank?

I have been changing the bank to credit with the payroll tax payments for years and 3 weeks ago it stopped overriding when posting the credit to the G.L. QB has been of no help. They have told me to change the default bank in settings every time I need to post tax payments. I have been doing J.E.'s to correct the posting. Neither is a fix, only a work around.

We still support bank account change in paying payroll taxes, @pmalicki.

Usually, you'll have to turn off the E-services feature. This way, you can update the bank account for payroll tax payments. Then, activate it again and link the correct bank account.

In your case, since you're told to change the default bank in settings when posting tax payments and have been creating JE's to correct the account posting for 3 weeks, I recommend contacting our Care Support team. They'll pull up your account in a secure session and investigate this behavior in your payroll account. Also, you can request to update your bank account to pay for payroll taxes via sending a bank account change form.

Here's how to reach our supports:

  1. Go to Help (?) from the upper right-hand corner of QBO.
  2. Type in Talk to a human and then enter your concern like update bank account to pay payroll taxes, press Enter.
  3. Select I still need a human.
  4. Click Get help from a human.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us: Start a chat or Get a callback.

I'm also adding these articles about updating bank information and paying and filing taxes online:

I'll get back to assist you if you have other concerns with updating your payroll account information or any QuickBooks-related questions. I'm always ready to help you out. Stay safe and more power to you!
