Question

Does QB also file my w-3 form? I'm a full payroll subscriber and see my w-2's/940/941 etc but don't see the w-3. Do I have to get someone else to do it or does QB do it?

Thanks for reaching to the Community for assistance, @realtorlady07. I'm here to share information about filing W-3 in QuickBooks.

Once you submit your W-2 electronically in QuickBooks Online, you don't have to send separate W-3 information. This is because we automatically send your W-3 information to the appropriate government agency. Although we don't send the actual form, we provide the necessary information that is acceptable to the agency.

In case you want to view and print the form, follow the steps below:

  1. Select Taxes.
  2. Click Payroll Tax.
  3. In the Forms section, select Annual Forms.
  4. Select W-3, and then View.
  5. A PDF form opens, and select the printer icon to print.

You can also, pull up the Payroll Tax and Wage Summary reportThis will provide the necessary details for W-3 as well. Just click the Reports menu and select Payroll Tax and Wage Summary in the Payroll section. For more details see this article: Run a Payroll Tax and Wage Summary report.

Let me know if you have more questions about filing forms or anything about QuickBooks. I'd be glad to address them for you. Have a good one, @realtorlady07.
