E-Filing NC Withholding

Hello,

How do I change my NC Withholding from Check to E-file?  I see no easy way of doing it in QuickBooks Desktop.  I've already gone through the efiling setup.  However it still shows check here.  After reviewing the help files, I saw where NC does not require a separate enrollment.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for connecting with us in the Community, @John11.

I see how essential it is for you to pay withholding taxes electronically. However, this option only depends on what state tax agency you're filing and paying with. For NC, changing NC Withholding from check to e-file is unavailable.

To successfully pay your taxes online, I'd suggest visiting your state tax agency's website. This way, you can check if an option to pay payroll taxes is applicable from there.

Once everything's good and you've been able to pay your taxes, you can record the said payment in QuickBooks.

Here's how to record paid tax liabilities:

  1. Go to Employees, and select Payroll Taxes & Liabilities.
  2. Select Pay Scheduled Liability.
  3. In the Pay Taxes & Other Liabilities window, select the tax or other liability you want to pay from the list, then select View/Pay.
  4. Review the dates and amounts due and select Check.
  5. Uncheck the To be printed box, and enter E-Pay in check no.
  6. Select Save and Close.
