We have an employee who has a yellow exclamation mark next to his "Tax Withholding" section.  Everything is completed for his taxes though and it allows us to run his payroll.  On the main employee list, there is also nothing next to his name like when someone is missing info.  I've tried reentering his tax info but the exclamation point never goes away.    Has anyone had this happen? Thanks.

Hi there, omnidesign5.

Welcome back to the QuickBooks Community. I'll be sharing troubleshooting steps to ensure that a yellow exclamation mark does not appear on the employee's Tax Withholding details.

The yellow exclamation mark appears on the employee's details means that you need some information required and fill out. Since everything is completed and has been tried reentering his tax info but the issue persists, I recommend logging in to your QuickBooks account using a private browser. A cache full of history and temp files might be the reason why the yellow exclamation mark keeps appearing in the "Tax Withholding" section. Please know that this is to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue, and private browsing doesn't store local files or cache.

Use these keyboard shortcuts based on the browser you're using.

  • For Firefox or Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.

If it works in incognito, you'll have to clear the cache of your regular browser. This removes the history or log of sites so you can start with a clean slate. If the steps above didn't work, use another supported browser as an alternative.
