Hello there, @cpcginger. I want to help you get rid of the error so you'll be able to fix your mileage in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

To resolve this, you'll need to manually add the total business miles driven. The total business mileage should be the same as the total that is in the total mileage of the vehicle. I'll guide you on how:

  1. In your QBSE account, select the Miles menu.
  2. Then, click the Manage vehicles link or select the Add trip dropdown and choose Manage vehicles.
  3. Next, select the vehicle.
  4. Go to the Tax info.
  5. From the Estimated business miles for [year] field add the business miles driven manually.
  6. Once done, click Save.

For reference, please check this article: Manually track mileage in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

However, if the issue persists, I highly recommend reaching out to our Phone support team to further investigate the root cause of the issue. Once connected, you can request a screen-sharing session so they can check your set up.

I'll include this helpful resource that you can access to further learn how QBSE calculates the mileage you can deduct from your taxes: Learn how QuickBooks Self-Employed calculates mileage deductions.

I'm always here ready to lend a hand if you have any other concerns about tracking your mileage in QBSE. Don't hesitate to leave a reply below. Have a good one and keep safe.
