Error Message When Updating SUI For Virginia

Our new SUI rate is .10%.  However when I enter that, I receive an error message noting that the rate should be between .13% and 6.23%.  See attached screenshot.  That is not a correct statement for the state of Virginia in 2024.  I have double checked with Virginia Unemployment.

How can I enter the correct rate of .10%?

Thanks!

I understand the importance of updating your State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) rate for Virginia, Grace. January 1, 2024's unemployment rates will be updated when the Virginia Employment Commission releases the latest data to us.

On January 1, 2024, if you still can't change the SUI rate, I recommend sending your notice to us through email or in your QBO payroll product so we can update it for you.

You can upload your notice to your payroll product by following these steps:

  1. Go to Taxes, then select Payroll Tax.
  2. Select Resources.
  3. Click Tax Notice.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to send your notice to us.

You can also send your notice to us through email. I'd like to provide you with this article for more details about sending a notice to us: Send in your payroll tax notice.

Furthermore, I want to include this article for a better understanding of taxes that QuickBooks submits for you: Understand the taxes and forms that QuickBooks payroll submits.

I have the same error for Virginia. The lowest rate is 0.10%, not 013%. This needs to be updated in QB. When can we expect the update from Virginia?

Intuit won't make the change for the Virginia Employment Commission rate.  For some reason we have the letter from the VEC with the correct rate, but I someone in Intuit is not updating the system.  When I call in, the assistant says they can't change it.   This should have been ready to go on January 1st.  I wish Intuit would get their act together.  This doesn't make users want to switch to online.

We have the same issue...waiting for Intuit to allow us to make the change for Virginia rate.
