Error on Tips Reported 2021

One of my employees reported tips to me incorrectly (total tips vs their allocation) in 2021. Am I correct in thinking that this is a big mess?! They paid taxes on a much larger amount than necessary.

I figure I need to do the following to correct:

Issue new: W2c, W3c, 941x, and 940x.

Am I missing something or is there another way to correct it?

I'm glad to see you here in the Community, @OChar. I’m here to give your insight about the tips and paycheck tips on QuickBooks Online.

Cash tips are different from paycheck tips. Cash tips are given directly to an employee in the form of cash. While paycheck tips are included in the gross or net amount of the employee’s paycheck.

Allocated tips are unsupported as a pay type in QuickBooks Online Payroll. On the Federal 941 and W-2 forms, we list tips subject to Social Security.

I suggest contacting the payroll support team at the end of the year to ensure that the tips are accurately recorded on the employees’ W-2 forms.

Alternatively, I've given you this article for your future reference:
