I need to file old unemployment tax.   Can Quickbooks do this or at least generate the forms?

Thank you for bringing this matter to the Community, Snipe. We appreciate your initiative in reaching out and are pleased to provide you with a detailed overview of the reconciliation process in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

QuickBooks Online is equipped to assist you by generating the necessary forms for filing old unemployment taxes. To begin, navigate to the Taxes section and select Payroll Tax. Here, you will find options for Quarterly Forms, which enable you to view and print your state unemployment tax forms directly from the platform.

If you prefer to file manually, QuickBooks offers the capability to view and print essential forms like the Federal 941, 940, along with state-specific forms. These can then be submitted to the appropriate tax agencies.

Additionally, if you're using a Full-Service Payroll version, QuickBooks can handle the e-filing and payment of these taxes automatically. For states that support it, you can create a State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) file for direct upload to state agency websites
