Question

FUTA was mistakenly taken out of previous payrolls. I have marked employees exempt from FUTA moving forward. How do I back out FUTA from previous payrolls?

Welcome to the Community space, pmcwhorter123. I'll make sure you get connected to the right support for handling any adjustments needed for the FUTA taxes from the previous payroll.

Since you mistakenly took out FUTA from the previous payroll, I'd recommend contacting our Payroll Support team. They have the necessary tools to make payroll adjustments to ensure the accuracy of our financial records and seamlessly file tax forms to rectify this situation.

To reach them, follow the steps below:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Go to (?) Help. This opens the QuickBooks Assistant window.
  3. Enter your inquiry In the Type or Ask Something field.
  4. Click Enter to send it.
