Glitch while entering Direct Deposit

When I try to enter a direct deposit, I am having continuous problems.  It either changes the amount, converting $3929.59 to $3.00 after tabbing through, or not allowing to select a payable account, but then showing an error when I manually type it in.  I've logged out and back in over and over, and it still occurs.  Eventually it seems to catch and I'm able to submit the payment, but this happens every single time and has for the last 3-4 months.  Any fix available?

I recognize how efficient it can be to have an accurate transaction while entering direct deposit, Jeannette.

Let me provide some ways to help you get through it.

First off, may I ask what specific error you received while manually entering direct deposits in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account? This is for us to provide the best possible solution.

In the meantime, let's check if this is a browser-related issue. We can try logging in to your QBO account using a private browser as it ignores websites from using cookies and doesn’t record any history and data. You can use these shortcut keys on your keyboard to access incognito mode:

  • Safari: Control + Option + P
  • Google Chrome: Press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Firefox or Internet Explorer: Ctrl + Shift + P

If you can now have a seamless process while entering direct deposits, it means you have to clear the browser's cache so the system can start fresh. If you get the same result, I recommend switching to a different supported browser.

Additionally, I'm adding this article you can browse for you to be able to know what you can do if you get an error message about direct deposit limits when you process payroll in QuickBooks Online: Get help if you’re over a direct deposit limit in QuickBooks Payroll.

Keep me posted if you have any other concerns about managing direct deposits in your QBO. Looking forward to having you again here in the Community forum, stay safe.
