Question
Has anyone else had a horrible Intuit Online Payroll (IOP) to QuickBooks Payroll Core conversion experience? Who at QB can actually fix conversion issues?
I post this with hopes that someone at QB might actually care enough to help me -- and I suspect others -- who have had a horrible experience after being converted from Intuit Online Payroll (IOP) to QuickBooks Payroll. I also write to ask if I'm alone as an Intuit Online Payroll user forced to convert to QB Payroll Core only to have my once-perfect payroll system and archived data turn into an unreliable mess. 1. Despite requesting otherwise, we were forced to migrate in mid-December, not exactly a great time of the year. 2. Migration introduced *true errors* in our payroll reports and records. While support agents have been helpful, it's clear they cannot solve the issue as the *root cause* was the conversion. 3. The errors are not trivial and are ones QB should care about as they relate to local taxing jurisdictions. While (thank goodness) paychecks can be issued and W2s are correct (although I had to proofread them all!), some of our internal QuickBooks Payroll generated reports are simply wrong -- literally spreadsheets that don't do the math correctly and place the data in the wrong cells. And that leave data out altogether. 4. While we historically could create 1099s in IOP, I was told that QB Payroll cannot do so and that I must instead use a third Intuit service at a cost of $13.99. I don't think this is true, as QB Payroll has menu options for 1099s and also does W2s. Moreover, QB Payroll is advertised as having the capability. Our migrated system would not create W2s and -- to meet the deadline -- I had to use the third system. I don't mind the expense, but now my 2021 forms are sitting on my hard drive rather than the cloud-backed system along with the 400 forms IOP (and now QB Payroll) stores in our company's archive. Note: With IOP, they were cataloged sensibly
