Question

Hello, I need to cancel a paycheck that has already been marked as processed. Can I still do so or what happens if I void it now?

I needed to submit payroll by today, Thursday, December 30, 2021 before 5:00PM since our paydate is tomorrow, Friday, December 31, 2021. However, one of the paychecks processed, I meant to process it as paper check. The status of this paycheck is already marked as "processed." When I over over the "processed" word, it gives me the option to void or delete the check. I need to void or delete this check and instead process it as a papercheck. Is this still possible?

Hi inquiry2!

You can delete or void the direct deposit paycheck. Let me help you.

When you void a check, it won't stop the direct deposit from processing and does not return funds to you. If you'll delete it, it'll remove it from your payroll and stop the direct deposit from processing.

You can choose to delete and re-create it since you want to issue a paper check, as long as the system allows you to do so. Note that with direct deposit payroll, your employees will get paid depending on your processing time.
