In QuickBooks Online (QBO), fixing your W2 depends on your payroll service and how you filed it. If you've enabled the auto pay and file, you’ll have to contact our Payroll support team to request a correction. Let me guide you how:
Select the Help button in your QBO company.
Click the Assistant tab to get started.
Enter a brief description of your concern. Example: Adjust wages in W2.
Then, to directly connect to an agent, type "Talk to a human".
Choose Start a chat or Get a callback.
If you pay and file electronically or manually, the correction will depend on whether you've filed the W2 or not. If you want to fix it before you file, you just need to resolve the issue in your product and file the form later on. If you'll need to do a correct after submitting the form, you have to create and file a W-2c form with the Social Security Administration manually. For the detailed instructions, please see the General Instructions for Forms W-2c and W-3c section in this article: General Instructions for Forms W-2 and W-3.
It's easy to track and monitor your employee information and your company's finances in QBO. To do so, you can pull up any payroll reports suit your needs. Each report has corresponding data that they display, you can also export or print them to have a handy copy that you can use as a reference.
Feel free to post again here if you have any other W2 concerns. Have a wonderful day.
