Question

How can I complete a payroll journal entry when it keeps crashing? It has happened at least 5 times tonight

I get about halfway through the data entry (which is about half the number of line items in the full entry) and it just crashes. Any suggestions?

We recognize the importance of efficiently utilizing the program without any difficulties. Occasionally, QuickBooks may exhibit unusual behavior due to browser-related issues. In such cases, you can resolve the problem by following some basic troubleshooting procedures.

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to fix this. It could be that the stored cache and cookies are the reason why you encounter unexpected browser-related crashes. To isolate this issue, let's start accessing your account using a different browser or enabling private browsing mode.

You can use the shortcut keys below:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + H

If it works, return to your regular browser and clear your browser's history to start afresh. We also suggest using a different supported browser because the QuickBooks version you're utilizing now may have a temporary malfunction.

Furthermore, you can visit this article to give a comprehensive list of reports and an overview of what data they display: Run payroll reports.
