Hi Snyderelectrical, I'm here to clarify things about filing an Employee Retention Credit and amended Form 940.

RS for further asIn QuickBooks, we no longer support the filing of Employee Retention Credit and Form 940. However, you can directly get in touch with the Isistance.

For Form 940, you can file using the same federal form from the same year it was filed and then check the amended return box in the top right corner of Form, page 1, box A. You can fill in all the amounts that should have been on the original form.

For example, you use the 2023 Form 940 to amend a return that you previously filed for 2023. If amending a return for a previous year, use that prior year's Form 940.

You can run payroll reports like Payroll Tax and Wage Summary to view the needed data. This way, you can verify and ensure the amounts you enter are accurate and correct.

Here's how:

  1. On the left navigation bar, click Reports.
  2. Scroll down and select Payroll Tax and Wage Summary.
  3. Customize the report.
  4. View the report data.

Also, we have a list of reports you can visit to get a closer look at your business' finances. Here's the link you can check out to learn more about the payroll reports available in QuickBooks: Run payroll reports.

Keep us posted if you need anything else regarding filing amended forms or an Employee Retention Credit. We'll be around to help you some more. Have a great day.
