I need to run a yearly payroll for an employee who is filing for social security and when I went to do that, I found two quarters did not transfer over from desktop to online.  Is there any way I can input them?

I'm happy to assist you in entering an employee's pay history into QuickBooks Online Payroll, coldhawg.

To do this, you'll need to gather key pay history information, including pay stubs or payroll reports showing year-to-date amounts. Then, start the setup in QuickBooks Online by signing in as the primary admin. Then, you can follow the steps below:

  1. On the left navigation panel, navigate to Payroll, and then select Overview.
  2. If you haven’t already, add all of your employees paid this year in the Tell us about your team task. Include all employees that no longer work for you. Make sure to set up each pay item, deduction, contribution and tax showing on their pay stubs or reports.
  3. Next to Add your payroll history, click Start

Then, enter how much you paid your employees this year and then your company totals each payday. Please refer to this article for more detailed steps: Add pay history to QuickBooks Online Payroll.
