Hello there. Welcome to the Community.

You can use the timesheet feature to pay your employee for an administrative time as well as project hours in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I'll gladly share further insights about this and guide you through the process to pay your employee accordingly.

When you create a timesheet (marked as billable and linked to an employee), you can use that data to calculate the hours for payroll, and your paychecks will show up under a project. To do this, here's how:

  1. Go to the + New button.
  2. Under Employees, select Single time activity or Weekly timesheet.
  3. From the small arrow ▼ icons, select the name of the employee and the week you want to record.
  4. Choose a customer from the dropdown  if you want to bill the activity to the customer or track expenses for the customer.
  5. Select the Billable checkbox.
  6. Fill in all the necessary information.
  7. Once done, select Save or Save and new.

Also, you can use projects to track your labor costs and profitability. You may want to check out this article as your reference to guide you in performing the process in QBO: Track hourly labor cost and profitability by project in QuickBooks Online.
